Frank Reichenbacher

I am a near life-long Arizonan, student, and denizen of the Sonoran Desert. I am interested in many things ecological and anthropological. I received a B.A. in Environmental Studies from Prescott College and a M.S. in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from the University of Arizona with C.H. Lowe. I spent four years with the Arizona Natural Heritage Program as Plant Ecologist and then fifteen years as a biological field consultant in Tucson.

Since taking over the family business in Phoenix I have found many excuses to leave it to others more capable than me. Instead I have begun the process of taking up research projects begun more than thirty years ago. Here are some:

1. Ecology and conservation status of the Tumamoc globeberry (Tumamoca macdougalii Rose, Cucurbitaceae), since 1984.
2. Ring-cloning in the Arizona sycamore (Platanus wrightii S. Watson, Platanaceae), an inactive interest since 1988, but now active.
3. Ecology, conservation status, and phylogeny of the endangered Arizona cliffrose (Purshia subintegra (Kearney) Henrickson, Rosaceae), since 1987.
4. Mapping the Biotic Communities of North America, recently reactivated, since 1982.
