The Remarkable Ocelot That Traversed 4 Sky Islands

Join Meagan to learn about the remarkable journey of a male ocelot named "Himdam", as he journeyed across four mountain ranges in the Sky Islands of Arizona, the longest-known trek by a single member of the species. It did so in the shadow of border wall construction, mine expansion, and I-11 corridor exploration, underscoring the fragility of our region and the threats wildlife face.

Meagan Bethel is a Wildlife Specialist at Sky Island Alliance specializing in wildlife camera photo processing and species identification. Meagan has been involved with Sky Island Alliance since she was in middle school and has a deep passion for the wildlife that calls this unique region home.
